The Herbal Skincare - Belif

Attended a newly launched Korean skincare event a while ago at Sunway Pyramid. The most attractive part of this brand is that they are called a ''True Herbal Cosmetic'' brand. By having a slight sensitive skin, I didn't know what kind of chemical could irritate my skin. More than 90% of my skincare are free of fragrances, mineral oil, preservatives etc etc... I was so delightful when I discovered this skincare brand with ONLY natural ingredients used!

Belif
is using an unique formulating philosophy that marries apothecary traditions and Korean skincare technology to provide care and efficacy for the skin. With promising natural ingredients used (mainly herbs), my skin is more than happy!

They has a wide range of products from basic skincare to facial oil, masks, body, sun protection, an even men! Too many to choose from. They have almost everything that our skin and body needed.

For cost effectiveness, their packaging is rather simple. I was quite confusing as they all look the same to me! Needed to read the label on the packaging to find the products I'm looking for.

These are their top 5 products.

Simple and nice packaging, I like!

Belif's philosophy is Real, Simple, and Sincere. They minimize packaging and advertisements, and eliminate harmful synthetic substances.

Random question, how do I look in my new hairstyle?

I've some feedback which is 50-50. Some people like me in this new look and some don't. I'm still considering to keep it this way or change back to the hairstyle I used to have. #dilemma

These top 2 bestseller were sponsored.

And this, I went back to their store and purchased it! :p

Top 1 on their bestseller: The True Cream - Aqua Bomb
(RM 155)

Ultra-lightweight texture, highly recommend this for the all year summer like Malaysia.

My skin is consider dry combination and it absorbs pretty quick! Very refreshing and cooling, most importantly it doesn't feel sticky AT ALL! Even guys may consider this too.

Extra point to this product: Pore minimizing with the formula contains of apothecary herbs which including the antioxidant agent.

Top 2 on their bestseller: The True Cream - Moisturizing Bomb
(RM 155)

It's texture is not as light as the aqua bomb, but it isn't the heavy one.

If you want to have longer moisture effect for your skin, this is the one. It is clinically tested to provide the moisture for the skin last up to 26 hours with the used of unique formula to leave the skin deeply moisturized. My thirsty skin absorbs this pretty quick too! No feeling of burdens at all.

I personally love the aqua bomb more, so light and hydrating! They both smells incredibly nice with the herbs used too! Instantly feel relaxed after a long day of....piano practice and work. :)

Both can be used as a 5 mins emergency hydrating mask: Apply generously to the skin and tissue off.

Creamy Cleansing Foam Moist (RM 95)

I aimed this product during the media launch, but I couldn't buy it yet as the store only open the next day. Purposely went back to their store for this! It looks amazing and it looks like could last so much longer than the regular drug store cleanser. I really hate it when my cleanser finish up so quickly and needa restock from time to time. Hope this could last me longer, at least 4 months I bet, and the promoter told me this could last me up to 6 months (160 ml). I hope she was right.

A tiny drop is sufficient for the entire face. Smells good too! :)

Very gentle cleanser to the skin, leaving my skin supple too. :)

My Daily Sun Protection Essentials

Who can survive without sunscreen products in this all year summer country in Malaysia?

I CAN'T

I'll feel naked if I don't put any sunscreen on even though when I'm indoor. I only work from home and practice the piano when I don't have to go out for classes. Still, I will use sunscreen products. I'm a typical type of "candle princess".

Received the latest sunscreen product from SUNPLAY-  SkinAqua UV Watery Essence

Other than its highly protective SPF50+ and PA++++, it contains Vitamin C which helps in whitening too!

With its high SPF and 4+s in PA, it works 16 times better against premature aging! And best of all is it has no colorant and mineral oil, and it has the breathable ultra light texture! The texture is very potent as we're using it everyday. I don't have to worry after clogged pores using this at all, there was once a sunscreen product caused the pimple/blackhead growing on my face. It took me a long time to remove all of them!

This SOLAREX-3 is the new technology providing 3-in-1 UV defense, protecting our skin against sun damage, skin aging and dryness.

Love its texture to the max, so so watery and light.

I barely feels anything after the application, it's even lighter than some moisturizer.

(Note: This sunblock is only for daily use not for outdoor sports)

These are my daily sun protection essentials! I can't live without any of them!

This is my look whenever I go out for work/ classes, I don't mind if my students see me like this, what I care more about is my skin. I've never skip the sun protection in my skin care regime since I found a tiny dark spot on my right cheek. It's so heartache to see that but it's never too late to take care of our skin, you've no idea how harmful UV rays could do to our beautiful skin.

Till then, ♥♥

#5Favourites: Beauty Products

It's been so long since I last shared about beauty stuffs, I've been quite busy struggling between work and piano practice, and I gotta prepare something big around the end of this year. It's quite challenging but I'm sure it'll be fun! So I don't have much time to take too much pictures and share all the products one by one, hence I came out with this idea: #5Favourites.

I'll be sharing things I love with this hashtag #5Favourites, it could be anything that I adore. Hope you'll like it this way too!

So I'll be starting with beauty products that I obsessed with recently.

1) Freshel Whitening UV Gel (RM 67)

I'm currently so obsessed with this product, this product is designed for ''not-a-morning'' person like me. I wish to sleep 5 more mins, and another 5 more mins and when the time I get up, I don't have much time for complicated skincare regime. I'll just apply this ALL-IN-ONE product after facial wash and I'm ready to go!! Yes, you could even skip the toning step! :p

Toner, Emulsion, Lotion, Cream, and UV Protection with SPF26 PA++!! A complete morning skincare regime with whitening effect and UV protection! Best part is this product is free from fragrance and colouring.:)

Love its texture too, it is thick but not sticky, just enough for the protection while leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. Sometimes I can't help touching my face as I really love how it works on my skin.

2) Neogence Skincare Set (RM 139)

Found this skincare set from SASA!

Hysluronic Acid Hydrating Range with Lotion, Essence and Sleeping Mask.

I was actually eyeing on the sleeping mask and lucky me found this in a set! It's only RM 139!!! Used their products few years back and I love the how they give moisture to my skin. This is actually a brand designed for after Aesthetic treatment and highly sensitive skin. :)

The texture of the sleeping mask. So hydrating and my skin absorbed every single bit of it, I applied thick layer each time.

3) Haruhada Toner (RM 39.90 from SASA)

I bought it when it was BUY 1 FREE 1, this products are better than my expectation.

I wanted to use it with large quantity for face mask purpose, but they actually give a good texture too. Sometimes I'll use it as a toner, not bad for a toner with this price. :)

4) Skin Care Mask (RM 5 from DAISO)

Love the way they design it with a tray, easy to use. :)

Pour a generous amount of Haruhada Toner into it,

and Tadaaa!! Facial time!!

It's a quick way to soften and brighten the skin when it's not in a good condition in the morning, I'll apply for around 5-10 mins.

5) Satinique Scalp Tonic (from AMWAY)

Was looking for scalp tonic after taking advice of my hairstylist, but I had no idea where to get it. Then I recall this Amway's hair products are quite good, asked my mom to help me get one. It doesn't give instant result as our scalp health depends on other factors too, but it does help in some way. With other methods of taking care of my scalp, it's turning so much better now. :)

Hope you'll love to read post like this, I need to get busy again. Till then, ♥♥.

How I Survived Through (Suspected) Dengue

It's hurtful to read news on Dengue took so many lives, that made me decided to write on this post which I didn't plan to.

I had (suspected) dengue few months ago, around November last year. Why I kept emphasizing on the word suspected? I had my blood test done, but I never manage to get my blood platelets result. I will explain why later.

At first, I was like other patients, I thought that I was having a bad fever, the symptoms are SO SIMILAR. Went to the clinic, and the doctor didn't notice anything. My fever was high and it kept coming back, I had to take paracetamol 4 times a day, continuously for about 3 days. Things only get a little better, but I still feeling weak and sick. I dragged my sick body to work and class after 3 days or so, since I only got a student to teach on that day, and followed by my own lesson, I told myself that I could handle it. Thanks to my determination to work and learn, my piano teacher actually was the one told me that I looked like a Dengue patient, she asked me to go to hospital to have blood test done ASAP.

I was definitely in shock, but instead of going for a blood test, I drove to my regular Chinese physician at a recognized hospital who I trusted with. After he checked on my pulse (把脉), body temperature and the little rashes on my arms, he confirmed that it was a virus attack (Dengue is considered as a virus infection and given my symptoms, it was high possibility that the virus I carried was Dengue).

On the same night, Xiang dragged me to General Hospital UM to have my blood test done. I was refused at first cause my physician told me there's no need to do so (but he did say even if I worried, I could still go for a blood test). Ok fine, I went there, waited for an hour, done the blood test, and I VOMITED few minutes after that. Gosh! I always have this phobia for blood test.:(  So seeing me unwell, Xiang sent me home for a rest. We were supposed to wait for 3 hours to take the result but we thought we could come back after that. Guess what, we didn't. We went to take the test result the next day instead, but...we can't take the result anymore. Great la you Government, it was less than 24 hours then I can't have my result anymore? I MUST STAY THERE TO WAIT EVEN I'M IN SUCH CONDITION?!?

Never mind, I had my Chinese medication to cure this. I was prescribed with 5 days medication, and I went back for another consultation after that, just to make sure the virus is fully gone from my system. Yes, it was gone, thankfully. Total medication I took was 10 days. First 5 days while I was still sick, another 5 days after that.

What were my symptoms?

1. High fever
- Strangest thing about this fever, it kept coming back and didn't recover for days.

2. Feeling cold and hot
- Sweating all over body and chill to the bone the next moment.

3. Feeling nausea all the time, vomited most of my food intake

4. Unbearable nerve pain
- My bone didn't pain, my nerve did

5. Headache

6. Rashes
- Few days after my fever, little bit of red rashes started from my arms.

7. Exhaustion
- Hardly get out from bed, didn't have the energy to do anything.

*Symptoms may varies from person.

Cure???

If you're searching for one, there's no specific cure.

1. Papaya leave juices
- scientific proof? not sure, but it's well-known for dengue. Didn't take it myself cause couldn't find it here in the city.

2. Lots of fluid intake required
- my teacher shared her experience in hospital, what the nurses and doctor did was only body temperature measurement, monitoring blood platelets, and IV drips (to make sure there's enough supply of water in the patient's body).

- it's hard for me to even "swallow" any drinks, I forced myself to. I bought lots of drinks (100 plus, juices, etc.) to help me with this.

3. Herbs
- some villages selling the herbs as a dengue cure, effective or not, I didn't know.

4. Chinese medication
- try to get a certified physician, my physician is from a recognized hospital.

What I learnt from my physician:

If your nose, mouth, gums started to bleed/ bruising (possible internal bleeding), you're in a dangerous state.

Fuzio Bar & Restaurant - Romantic Restaurant with 5-Star Cuisine

Happy Valentine's in advance!

It's very rare of me being so efficient but I think this is a nice restaurant that worth sharing, if you still looking for restaurant to celebrate Valentine's Day with your loved one or you simply just need a better plan.

My birthday actually falls on 10th Feb but too bad Xiang had to work extra hour on that day! On my exact birthday!!! Why?!?!? So we had no choice but to postpone my birthday celebration, and we didn't like to dine in on the Valentine's Day because we are not comfortable with crowded places, we can get so fed up in congested traffic and hard time finding parking. So instead of heading out on Friday which is quite crowded too or Saturday for a nice dinner, we chose a Thursday instead, it was a impromptu decision.

Love the table setting, so romatic!! ♥

Xiang was the one who chose this restaurant, gotta say that he has a great taste!! :)

Still can't get over his work.

We made reservation at the very last minute, and we still manage to get a seat, probably because it was a weekday though. They had 2 floors for dining and 3rd floor as the rooftop. They readied a table for us on the first floor, I love the 2nd floor more and I requested for a change of table. Yay! Wish granted! You'll see why I love the second floor :)

We were then ushered to our table.

The entire floor was mine!!

The benefit of celebrating Valentine's Day earlier! Truly love the tranquility of it :) ...you know this was like the scene of the movie that rich man just booked the entire floor for you? And you've a waiter specially standing at a corner waiting to serve you any minute, and he is so friendly and attentive! So romantic right? No no Xiang isn't a spoilt rich brat lol, we're just a regular couple :p

While we were waiting for our food to be served, I asked Xiang to help me take a couple of photos with the stair, it just looked nice! But....but!!!!

See this was my angry face, he just can't take a nice picture properly. Argh!!

He was like: "Nah, done!" while I only heard a few clicking sound. I seriously need a good photographer! I want a nice #ootd picture too! #sadtohavealazyboyfriend

My unsatisfied #ootd shot, best among all. :(

Okay it's time for food!

This man in love with this stick bread, it's crispy! I love it too :)

Apple juice, RM 14 ++

Spaghetti Carbonara with Smoked Duck Breast, RM 36++

It's so creamy! Xiang loves it A LOT but I don't like creamy food...the duck breasts actually blended into the Carbonara. #notbad

Baked Cod Fish, RM 68++

We just randomly ordered this one, and this is....this is a food from heaven! I never had any cod fish tasted so nice like this before, crispy skin blended so well with the teriyaki sauce, while the meat is still juicy inside!! I can't even........ #heartmelt

The bottom was mashed potato with pesto, tasted a little heavy for me.

The fish....omg! Must try if you had the chance! I dare to say this is better than Michelin star food! #notbluffing

Gelato Chocolate Ice Cream (RM 16)

Very chocolaty, a little old school ice-cream style.

And this is their Valentine's Day menu, RM 299++ for TWO!!

Served with a bottle of wine some more! So worth it! I inquired the manager she told me that there's still tables available for 5-7pm slot on 14th Feb, the menu is special designed for Valentine's, most of the dishes are not on the menu.

* Disclaimer: The dishes I had wasn't on Valentine's menu, but I think the chef is marvelous!
